CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Grace Health recently gained national recognition for the cardiovascular care it provides to patients in Southeast Kentucky.

To help patients manage risk factors for heart disease, Grace Health participates in various programs such as “Check. Switch. Control. Cholesterol ™ ”,“ Target: Type 2℠ diabetes ”and“ Target: TA ™ ”.

The cholesterol program has achieved Gold status. “Target: BP ™” has achieved Gold + status for the third consecutive year, receiving recognition from the American Heart Association and the American Medical Association.

“Participation in these initiatives is absolutely imperative for our organization. Kentucky ranks 8e highest state for the prevalence of diabetes. Compared to the US rate of 10.5% of the diabetic population, Kentucky stands at 13.7%. The prevalence of our state has doubled since the year 2000.
